Act

Objective: To offer resources to citizens so that they can make important changes in their communities.

Why? Following the appearance of caacQ Founder and President, Johanne Tassé, on Tout le monde en parle, our members received a number of e-mail messages from people, across the provinces, who were touched by the topics discussed on the program and who wanted help. We have therefore prepared the attached document, which describes important animal welfare initiatives. These are accompanied by tools and suggestions aimed at mobilizing citizens so that they may be able to bring about changes in their own municipalities and may consequently make a difference in the life and well-being of animals.

How? We are describing two manageable initiatives that need your participation. Change comes from working together;

The topics discussed here are the following:

Note: This material has been developed based on our experience and that of our members, and from documentation received from other animal welfare organizations. It is provided as background information that may assist you in taking initiative in your area, but it is not intended to be a step-by-step guide to such action. The material offers a point of departure and an outline of an approach you may be able to use to promote respect for these wonderful creatures who share our lives. Any such initiative must, however, be designed to meet the specific circumstances of your particular region or municipality. The objective, however, remains the same: to improve the quality of life of companion animals.
